Be Prepared For A Disaster With A Home Inventory…Tampa Real Estate News
THE LATEST NEWS ON THE TAMPA REAL ESTATE MARKET, BUYING A HOME IN TAMPA, AND REAL ESTATE ISSUES AROUND THE WORLD, EVERY DAY, ON THE REAL ESTATE SIZZLE.
Florida seems to have survived another Hurricane Season without any threatening storms. If you have lived through a Hurricane, Flood, or, like those in Southern California who have lost their homes to fire, you can appreciate how important it is to have an inventory of your possessions. I experienced a flood many years ago and, after that messy experience, quickly compiled a room by room home inventory.
Being prepared with an accurate list of your household possessions, will make the Insurance Claim process much easier. Dont forget closets and drawer contents, too. I am willing to bet if you are without an inventory, and try to remember everything in your home, you will omit at least 60% of your possessions. Thats what insurance companies are counting on!
There is a free software program from the Insurance Information Institute that can help with your Inventory. You can check it outand let me know what you think!
I can help with your move to any Tampa neighborhood, including: South Tampa, Davis Islands, Beach Park, Sunset Park, Hyde Park, Culbreath Isles, Palma Ceia, Westchase, Waterchase, Odessa, Cheval, Avila, Brandon, Riverview, FishHawk, New Tampa, Tampa Palms, Hunters Green, Arbor Greene, Apollo Beach, South Shore, MiraBay, Golf Communities, Waterfront Homes, Luxury Homes in Tampa, Condos in Tampa and International Real Estatecontact me!

Very good advice, and great link to the software. I had a family member lose everything in a flood during hurricane Ivan and the insurance claim was very tedious. A home inventory would have helped a lot. Let us pray for more quiet hurricane seasons.

Jackie,
This is great advice. We found that for us to do a home inventory ourselves would have been a nightmare! (We have too much stuff!) We have a great referral for a company we just used for our personal home inventory. Extremely Professional, licensed and bonded. They also provided the software solution for us to add or change our inventory AND a UPS key drive so we have a backup if we lose our computer.

New Year Resolution…
It appears as though the official end to the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season has arrived today and left us unscathed thankfully. Now we’re moving on to thinking or worrying about the next 31 days as we approach another end –…
