Sellers often want to keep their homes off the market during the holidays. They dont like the inconvenience of showings, or they think their home is not likely to sell in December.
The truth is, many people MUST buy in December, either to qualify for the Homestead Exemption, which lowers their property tax bill, or because they are moving to Tampa and must start a new job in January. Homes look great while decorated for the Holidays, so Sellers who KEEP their homes on the market are MORE likely to have serious buyers during that time.

Great article as usual Jackie. It seems to be a common misconception that the holiday season is the wrong time to list your home. Sellers in the Tampa real estate market should heed your words and get their Tampa homes spruced up to sell. Thanks for the great link also.
