Buying a House in Tampa? Dreaming of a Chalet in Switzerland? Find it Here!

THE LATEST NEWS ON TAMPA REAL ESTATE AND REAL ESTATE AROUND THE WORLD, EVERY DAY, ON THE REAL ESTATE SIZZLE….If you are buying a home in Tampa, or looking for a property in a foreign country, I have many previous articles on those topics. If you would like to read a previous article that I have written, i.e. articles about Property Taxes, or the new FAR-9 contract, or Buying property in Vienna, there are several ways to do that:

1. You can go to the “search for a topic” box on the right sidebar, just below the “Real Estate Resources” section, and type in the topic you are looking for, “taxes”, or “contract”, or “neighborhood”….hit “enter”. All of my previous articles on that topic will come up in descending order of when they were written. You can continue to scroll down through the page and see everything on that topic.

2. You can go the the “categories” section on the lower right sidebar and click on a particular category. All of the articles in that category will appear, just as if you searched by topic, as in example 1.

Or, of course, you can always send me an email or ask me a question through the “Ask Me A Question” icon on the right sidebar!

You can also search for properties anywhere in the World…go to the World Properties category on the right…under Real Estate Resources.

    Jackie -

    I have wondered if there is a rule of thumb in deciding how much you should invest in your house prior to sale. Are you better off: replacing worn out carpets, tired landscaping, etc; holding back cash to allow the buyer to make their own improvements; or, simply reducing the price. Are there any restrictions that the mortgage companies apply in terms of cash payments from the seller to buyer for improvements?

    You should paint and recarpet, all the “fix up” should be done before listing the property for sale. Lenders will usually not allow any “cash” back to the buyers but will allow seller to pay for a portion of the buyer’s closing costs.
