When a Storm is Approaching Tampa, Do You Need to Evacuate? Tampa Real Estate News

One of the most important questions for homebuyers in the Tampa Real Estate Market is:  “Will I need to Evacuate if a Hurricane is approaching?”

Areas that are in close proximity to the water, are the first to be evacuated.  South Tampa, including Davis Islands, includes many areas that are Flood Zone “A”, which is a mandatory evacuation zone. The threat of storm surge is greatest in those low-lying areas.

Ballard Designs Opens It’s First Retail Store In Tampa Today

Shop-pingBallard Designs, the Atlanta-based retailer opens its first Retail Store at International Plaza in Tampa today. Specializing in home accessories and furniture sold by catalogue, Ballard premieres with a 20,000 square foot location in the upscale shopping mall.

Ballard Designs carries rugs, furniture, bath accessories, kitchenware, lamps, mirrors and many French Inspired collections.

Look for another Ballard Designs store to open soon in Jacksonville!

Where to Buy “Organic” in Tampa….

PeppersTampa is a growing Organic market. More and more consumers are choosing to eat foods grown without pesticides, or the use of preservatives. Publix, and other grocers are adding organic sections to their produce and meat departments, but other small retailers in town cater, almost exclusively, to the natural market. One of the most-asked questions, after someone buys a home in Tampa, is “Where Can I Find…Grocery Stores, Boutiques, etc. “. Here are a few of the best organic grocers in Tampa.

WILD OATS

Located on Dale Mabry, just north of 1 275, this is my personal favorite for organic foods. With the best selection of organic produce, bakery, cheeses, meats, dry goods, and frozen foods, this is truly a true natural grocer. It is slated to become a part of the Whole Foods chain.

VILLAGE HEALTH MARKET

Located on South MacDill Avenue, just south of Bay to Bay, this local market features organic produce, meats, wines and a fabulous Peachesselection of prepared foods, along with a juice bar.

NATURES HARVEST

A family-owned natural grocer, Natures Harvest is the original natural grocer in the Tampa area, having served the community for 20 years. Produce, vitamins, bakery and prepared foods, along with a very knowledgeable staff keep the loyal customers coming back. It is located at the Corner of N. MacDill Avenue and Cypress Avenue.
