Hillsborough County Schools Top the State in National Merit Semi-Finalists…Tampa Real Estate News

Thanks to the excellent school choice options available to Tampa students, including the International Baccalaureate Program, Hillsborough County ranks #1 in the State of Florida for National Merit Semi-Finalists, with a total of 64 students.
Hillsborough County offers the International Baccalaurete Program at three high schools: King High, Hillsborough High and Robinson High.

Find the Right Magnet School in the Tampa Real Estate Market

If you are moving to Tampa, or looking for a home in the Tampa Real Estate Market, and you have children, finding the right school will be at the top of your “to do” list! Hillsborough County is the 8th largest school district in the Country and has many top-rated schools, both Nationwide and Statewide.
Each street address has a specific “school district” assigned to it, but another option to consider is one of the many “Magnet Schools” available at all grade levels. I am going to chat about several of the most popular magnet schools over the next few weeks, to educate my readers, and those considering a move to Tampa, about the incredible educational opportunities for your children outside of the “mainstream” curriculum.
I deal with a heavily “International” clientele. Many of my clients have bi-lingual children and want to immerse them in a curriculum that is focused on languages and international studies. I, personally, studied at a French elementary school and later at a university in Switzerland. While studying Russian History in French may not appeal to everyone, it is EXACTLY the kind of challenge that many students thrive upon!
Hillsborough County offers the Interational Baccalaureate programme at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. Today, I will introduce you to MacFarlane Park Elementary, which offers the IB program at the primary level, focused on ages 3–12. Located on MacDill Avenue, close to South Tampa, MacFarlane Park Elementary is rated in the top 1% of all Florida School. You can find more information about their program here.
Hillsborough County offers Magnet Programs in Math, Science, Arts, Performing Arts, International Studies and more. Before you enroll your child, consider all of the options available to you. To be considered for a magnet program, there is an application process and a spring deadline for the following school year. This is the time to start investigating your options for the 2009–2010 school year.

Let’s take a little break from the Tampa Real Estate Market today! I love politics and this is definitely the most interesting political year in my lifetime! The Vice Presidential candidates are about to be announced and there has been much speculation about whether, or not, the VP choices will affect the election results. With an estimated 14% of the voters still “undecided”, I think the VP choice will make a difference. And, of course, I have an opinion about “who” would make the best Vice Presidential choice, politically and strategically.

Plant High School District is Still A Top Choice for Tampa Real Estate

Every week, I receive inquiries about Tampa Real Estate in the Plant High School District. No wonder, Plant High is one of the Top 100 High Schools in the U.S! I live, and work, in the Plant High District in Tampa, so I know it very well!
